Roach Control

There are many different types of roaches. However, in California we deal with three in particular.  The first two are named the American roach and the second is the Oriental roach. Both are large in size and although appear to be scary, they are typically harmless. These two are also known as water bugs. An exterior treatment along with closing opening are necessary and are included as part of the “general pest control” service.

The third and most problematic of the three roaches is the german cockroach. This type of roach is treated differently and considered a “special” treatment.

A German roach treatment program is a comprehensive plan for eliminating German roach infestations in a home or building. German roaches are a pest that can contaminate food, trigger allergies, and spread disease.

Here are the steps involved in a German roach treatment program:

  1. Inspection: A trained pest control technician will conduct a thorough inspection of the property to identify the extent of the German roach infestation and locate all areas where roaches are present.

  2. Identification: The technician will identify the specific species of German roach present and determine the most effective treatment method based on the roach's biology and behavior. Insect monitors will be placed to help the technician make his determination.

  3. Treatment: The technician will use a combination of  products to eliminate the German roach infestation. The treatment may involve applying insecticides to cracks and crevices, using bait gel to attract and kill roaches, and will likely include multiple treatment dates to gain control of the infestation.

  4. Follow-up: The technician will schedule follow-up visits to monitor the success of the treatment and apply additional treatments if necessary.

Additionally, It’s important to take steps to prevent future German roach problems by maintaining proper sanitation, cleaning, removing harborage and competing food sources, sealing cracks and crevices, and storing food in sealed containers
